On the premises of the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy of the Ukrainian Catholic University, with the support of benefactors from Germany, UCU volunteers furnished a temporary shelter for refugees fleeing from the war which Russia is waging against Ukraine.
On March 9, the university prepared 50 sleeping spaces in its classrooms. Soon the first occupants will be settled here, orphan children evacuated from the war zone, since the Russian army every day continues to shoot at and bomb peaceful residents in Ukrainian cities and villages. Eventually these children will be sent abroad. Then the shelter will be open for people whose homes were also destroyed by the occupying forces.
